Another old submariner and myself are traveling to the commissioning via motorhomes and will be staying at Oceana Naval Air Station RV Park. If there are any Native New Mexican Crew Members in the crew give me a holler. We may have some goodies from home for you. Bill Robinson

I am so proud of having a boat named after New Mexico, Even though I was not in the Navy. My oldest Brother since pass away retired after 20 year and my other brother,Nephew Senior Chief retired after 23 years, son were also in the Navy. I wish you the best of Luck and good sailing. God bless all who sail on the boat and keep them safe.

Best wishes to the entire crew. I hope your commissioning goes without a hitch, and the whole future of the sub is smooth sailing.
Wish I could be there, and wish I could sail with you some time.
May you have fair winds and following seas.

I want to personally thank you for my freedom. I can only wonder what I could do to let you know what your sacrifice for our country means and I come up empty each and every time. Please be safe and come home each and every time. The only thing I can offer is my prayers for each and every one of your brave souls. GOD BLESS YOU and know that you are in my prayers.......

Smooth sailing to a fine crew on a fine ship named after a fine state!
To the crew, sponsors, and patrons of USS New Mexico:
It is with great humility that we plan to attend the commissioning of USS New Mexico. As life long citizens of this great state, we are especially proud that New Mexico is honored in such a way. We wish you, the crew, God speed as you sally forth as a vital member of the fleet.

Dear officers and crew members of USS New Mexico,
I will pray for your safety while you are serving our country, especially while on USS New Mexico. My father, father-in-law, few brothers-in law, former Navy nephew, and future son-in-law have served our country (future son-in-law NOW serving in Afghanistan) so I know a bit about your struggles in being away from home and facing dangers everyday. My prayers will be with you.
God speed,
Julie

As plank owners, you carry with you honor and pride. As former submariner of the
USS Alabama SSBN 731 (gold crew) and USS Louisville SSN 728, I know
the pride and honor I carried as MS1(SS) on both boats! As a New Mexican
I wish officers and crew fare winds and following seas! Keep up your
Quals and make us proud!
Sincerely,
Fellow submariner, MS1(SS) Miranda

To the officers and crew of the USS New Mexico: Part of my career as a Naval Officer was spent on fast frigates and destroyers, and one of my past positions was as the Submarine Warfare Officer. My ships would have numerous exercises hunting fleet subs to keep my sonar techs trained. I have great respect for all submariners, but I am especially proud to know that the USS New Mexico will be manned by some of the Navy's elite, specifically chosen to man a new vessel. May you serve with pride as honorary citizens of the "Land of Enchantment," and may your vessel be at the forefront of protecting America's freedom in the oceans spanning the globe. Sent with sincere best wishes from a proud Navy-man to each and every one of you. Respectfully, W. Grant Wright
